INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 25, 2015) — Indianapolis Colts linebacker Robert Mathis took a step closer to returning when the team moved him from the physically unable perform (PUP) list to the active roster.  He also hit the practice field with the team Tuesday.

Mathis missed the entire 2014 season thanks to a suspension and an Achilles injury. The last time he practiced was on Aug. 26, 2014. The last time he played a game with the Colts was the Jan. 11, 2014, playoff loss to New England in the AFC divisional round.

Mathis is the franchise’s all-time sack leader.
