INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- An Indianapolis woman is hoping to help out the victims of the massive and deadly fire in Gatlinburg.

Jess Zachary was planning a trip to the mountains this weekend. She says her vacation home wasn't destroyed but knows she will expect to see destruction and devastation around her.

She wanted to do something to help those in need, now that the cleanup is just beginning. Zachary posted a note on her Facebook page asking for donations and just  a few hours after, items started pouring in.

"Now is when the extent of the need is really going to kick in because they have all the cleanup going on. All these thousands of people that lost their homes are in shelters and camped out in schools and churches, so I want to take this stuff down there and get it directly to those people," Zachary said.

She's collecting items like dog food, water, toiletries, new or gently used clothing, and blankets. She will be collecting donations until Friday afternoon. You can drop them off at the Mousetrap Bar and Grill near 56th and Keystone.
