INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 18, 2015) – The woman whose body was found covered in baking soda has been identified as 26-year-old Jessica Frazer.

On Friday, the coroner also ruled the official cause of death for Frazer as strangulation.

IMPD began investigating Frazer’s death on Wednesday when officials received a tip from a neighbor at Frazer’s apartment complex in the 5800 block of Bolton Court.

Once officers arrived to the scene, it was determined HAZMAT crews were needed.

After a warrant was obtained, officers gained entry and found a body.

According to our partners at the Indy Star, Frazer’s body was found in a closet, placed alongside trash bags full of clothing.

Her body was covered in baking soda and calcium hydroxide, commonly referred to as lime or quicklime.

Police say the substances were likely put there to cover up the smell of the dead body.

Police are still looking for a person of interest in this case.
