The NFL season is drawing near and the city of Indianapolis is getting closer to officially bidding on another Super Bowl.

The committee has until the end of August to file initial paperwork to move forward with the bid.

In an interview with our partners at the Indianapolis Business Journal, Allison Melangton says the new committee is looking at several factors, including competition.

In addition to Indy, seven other cities could be interested in hosting the 2018 game, including Miami, New Orleans and Dallas, among others.

If Indy’s committee moves forward with the bid as expected, it will present its proposal to the NFL in May.
