INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – An Indianapolis woman is facing an attempted murder charge after police say she shot her boyfriend in the forehead on the northeast side.

Police were called to the shooting in 4400 block of Stouffer Lane near the intersection of East 46th Street and North Post Road around 12:10 p.m. on June 24.

There, police found the man bleeding profusely in a vehicle. He was then transported to Methodist Hospital.

While at the hospital, the man told officers that his girlfriend, Ericka Carter, 26, had shot him after getting into a physical argument over infidelity.

The woman who called 911 told police that she witnessed part of the argument, then saw Carter’s boyfriend crawl to his car and Carter flee with her 1-year-old son. The witness reportedly helped the man as much as she could until an ambulance arrived.
