INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting on the city’s northeast side.
Police say a man was shot Thursday morning just before 7 in the 9100 block of Cavalier Court. That’s near 38th and Post.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police say they were first alerted of the situation by IFD firefighters who heard shots in the area. An anonymous caller then told dispatchers about a man behind a building who had been shot.
Police ask the public to come forward with any information that could aid their investigation.
“Any information, any piece, any little bit of information that residents may have to help detectives solve this case, is vital and we need them to come forward and let us know about this individual,” said IMPD’s Samone Burris.
