INDIANAPOLIS — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Indy’s far east side.

At approximately 7 p.m. Thursday, IMPD responded to a call of a crash near the area of East 30th and North Arlington Avenue.

The crash involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. Preliminary information leads detectives to believe the motorcycle was traveling east on E. 30th Street when the sedan traveling west on E. 30th Street turned south on to Arlington in front of the mortorcycle.

IMPD says the adult male driver of the motorcycle suffered severe trauma from the crash. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff shortly after arrival.

The adult male driver of the sedan remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. That driver was taken to the hospital for a blood draw which is standard procedure for crash investigations involving fatalities.
