Greenwood man charged in child molestation case involving 6-year-old child

GREENWOOD, Ind.—A Greenwood man was arrested this week following a child molestation investigation.

William Brenner, 50, was arrested on four counts of child molesting and one count of dissemination of matter harmful to minors.

The investigation into Brenner began after detectives with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office received an abuse report from the Indiana Department of Child Services on June 7. According to the report, a 6-year-old child disclosed the inappropriate behavior after inquiring about his biological father to DCS officials.

The child stated while he was staying at Brenner’s residence, Brenner would touch the boy’s private areas on several occasions. The report also states the boy revealed Brenner would make the boy touch him. The boy described during one occasion, Brenner put a “black thing” on his private part. According to detectives, the “black thing” was determined to be a plastic adult toy commonly known as a “Fleshlight” and used by men to masturbate.

According to court documents, the child told officials Brenner showed him pornographic images and videos. The child also stated Brenner would make the boy take pictures of Brenner’s private areas and record him masturbating.

Further investigation revealed the incidents occurred from Oct. 30, 2014 to March 20, 2015.

Detectives executed a search warrant on Brenner’s residence on July 6. During an interview with detectives, Brenner admitted he made the child take nude photos of him, according to the probable cause. Brenner also admitted to showing the child pornographic images and videos. Court documents also reveal Brenner told authorities he did inappropriately touch the child and had the child inappropriately engage with him on multiple occasions.

Brenner was placed under arrest and booked in the Johnson County Jail.
