INDIANAPOLIS––The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) arrested a 45-year-old man Friday in connection with last week’s shooting on the north side of the city.
IMPD said officers responded to 4300 block of N. Keystone Ave. on a report of a person shot around 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4.
Police arrived and found 43-year-old Charles Potter with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. Potter was taken to the hospital and was listed in critical condition at the time.
Detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation which led them to believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation at the business.
On Friday, May 7, detectives arrested 45-year-old James Norwood.
Norwood faces preliminarily charges of aggravated battery, criminal recklessness, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and possession of a firearm without a license.
The Marion County Prosecutors Office is reviewing the case and will make a final charging decision, police said.
