MUNCIE, Ind, (May 17, 2014) — A man was shot late Friday night during an attempted robbery at a Muncie liquor store.
It happened around 11:20 p.m. Friday at Fifteenth-Hoyt Liquor Store on Muncie’s south side.
Police say there was a confrontation at the store when the gun went off.
Police are still piecing together exactly what happened and trying to figure out who the man is, who was shot. Authorities have not said that the shooting victim was the person trying to rob the store, but they have confirmed he was not a store employee.
He was in surgery Friday night but there is no update on his condition. No one else was injured.
