INDIANAPOLIS — A man is in critical condition after being shot on the east side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

At about 11:45 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the area of E. 21st St. and N. Ritter Ave.

Officers arrived to find a man in his early 20s suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Police said the suspected shooter fled on foot. He is described as a Black male wearing all black and a blue face mask.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
