INDIANAPOLIS — A person died after being shot Monday on the south side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

At about 2:45 p.m., police were called to the 8800 block of St. Peter Street, near U.S. 31 and County Line Road.

Officers arrived to find a person suffering from at least one gunshot wound. They were initially listed in critical condition but later died.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 18-year-old Ngun Tha Peng.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
