The coroner on Monday identified the man killed as 46-year-old Quelo Hogue.
INDIANAPOLIS — A man died after being shot multiple times Sunday afternoon inside his residence on Indianapolis’ northeast side.
Indy metro police officers were called around 3:05 p.m. to the 4000 block of Hampshire Court, a residential area near E. 42nd St. and Post Rd., on report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, IMPD officers found a man in his 50s with multiple gunshot wounds laying inside his residence. The man was pronounced dead at the sceneby EMS, IMPD said.
Preliminary information from the scene shows that others were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, IMPD said, although it is unclear how many.
“Please come forward with the information you know,” IMPD Sgt. Genae Cook. “We are not asking you to solve the crime, just give us the little piece of information so we can solve the puzzle.”
Officers are still looking to determine a motive for the shooting, although they believe there is no active threat to the public.
Homicide detectives have begun an investigation into the shooting, Cook said on scene. Multiple callers and cooperative witnesses are providing information, she added.
“A lot of people in this area might be afraid to call, might be afraid to give information,” Cook said. “But each time someone calls it gives us another piece of the puzzle, another piece that gives us closure to what happened to this family.”
