IndyGo wants  people to bus, bike, or walk wherever they’re trying to go this summer.

People who register their bus pass at through the end of the June are automatically registered in a drawing for a number of prizes that include a free membership to the Pacers Bikeshare program, a new bike, or free bus rides for a year.

“Transit helps the community, it’s not just an individual thing when you get on the bus it also helps spur economic development it helps with air quality for everyone around you and it really helps build the community,” said Lauren Albert, IndyGo marketing and communications manager.

Using public transportation is also a way to save money.

A study by the American Public Transportation Association found that a two person household that downsizes to a single car can save close to $10,000 a year.
