Man dies after car crashes into Madison County building

INGALLS, Ind. (June 10, 2015) – A man died from his injuries following a Wednesday morning crash in Madison County that sent his car into a building.

The crash happened around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday at Broadway (Indiana 67) and 750 West in Ingalls. Emergency crews and a medical helicopter were called to the scene.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, an 18-year-old driver ran a stop sign and hit another car, which then crashed into the corner of a warehouse for Desco Floor Systems. The driver of the second car, identified as a 73-year-old man, was taken by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital with trauma to his legs and possible internal injuries. He later died from his injuries, officials from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators said the driver of the other car and a teenage passenger didn’t suffer any apparent serious injuries. The crash closed Indiana 67 for several hours as crews investigated the crash and worked to clear the scene.
