SULLIVAN COUNTY – Indiana State Police need help finding a Dugger man who was last seen Friday night.

Shane R. Porter, 37, failed to show up at his job in Vincennes and hasn’t contacted any family members. Police believe Porter is experiencing family and mental issues.

Dugger is about 6’2”, 200 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen in blue jeans and a gray shirt.

Around 8:50 p.m. Friday, someone alerted Vincennes City Police that a man was swimming in the Wabash River near the Pearl City area of Vincennes. The caller couldn’t get the swimmer to talk to them. Since then, investigators have searched the river in an attempt to locate the man. Officers from the Department of Natural Resources don’t know if the man was Shane Porter.

Investigators recovered Porter’s vehicle Sunday after finding it parked near the Wabash River. The vehicle has been impounded.

Anyone with information on Porter or his whereabouts is urged to contact ISP Detective Tom Hanks or Trooper Polly Blackburn at the Putnamville Post (765) 653-4114.

Questions concerning the Indiana Conservation Officers should be directed to ICO Joe Haywood at (812) 837-9536.
