IPS students are just days away from the start of the new school year.

With classes set to resume Monday, school and city officials came together to make sure parents are ready. They highlighted several things for the 2013-2014 school year but put a special emphasis on making sure kids are vaccinated.

“We will be excluding kids on September 16th who do not have their vaccines. We will be getting letters out soon as to this is what your child needs,” said Rae Wallis, director of district health services.

School safety is also a major concern. IPS officials plan to take extra precautions in order to know who’s inside school buildings at all times.
