JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation they believe may be a homicide.

Deputies were called to the 2900 block of Cadogan Drive in White River Township to investigate after a man was found dead inside a home.

Sheriff Doug Cox says the death was a "possible homicide."

Police said the owner of the home, a man in his 50s, was found dead. His mother found him on the floor and originally thought he'd suffered a medical emergency. However, she discovered the garage door and a door leading to the home from the garage were open.

Police said the man suffered what appeared to be wounds and a great loss of blood but wouldn't go into further detail about the injuries. Police are waiting on the coroner to determine a cause of death before ruling this a homicide.

"It's just a complete shock," said Ralph Roller, who lives right next door. "He's always home. He's always nice. He's always friendly. I just don't have any problems with him. I just can't imagine him having a problem with anybody."
