Judge sentences pastor who told teen Jesus approved of their sexual relationship

A former pastor who told a teen Jesus approved of their sexual relationship will spend the next 12 years in prison.

Jack Schapp, 55, was sentenced Thursday.

Schapp had a sexual relationship with a teenage parishioner. He met the girl while he was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hammond.

The sentence is actually two years more than the prosecution recommended.
