INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY (May 18, 2014) – FOX59 driver analyst Ed Carpenter earned the top spot for the Indianapolis 500!
Carpenter, who also had the top speed in Saturday’s qualifications, had a four-lap average of 231.067 on Pole Day Sunday.
Drivers locked in their starting spots in two separate groups. Drivers in spots 10-33 ran in reverse order (starting with No. 33) to set their place in the field. After that, the Fast Nine from Saturday qualifying made their final qualifying run and try to capture the pole for the 98th running of the Indianapolis 500.
