INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Volunteers took advantage of some spring-like weather Saturday morning. They grabbed shovels and wheel barrows, ready to beautify local neighborhoods. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Inc. organized tree plantings in several areas. The group focused on the Old Northside, Eagle Creek and College Avenue neighborhoods.
Organizers expect to put in close to 100 trees by the end of the day. They planted in an area where trees were affected by the Emerald Ash Borer.
“It’s really great to see the neighborhood come together and volunteers come out of the woodwork to help us and help beautify our neighborhood,” said resident Nick Marson.
