(April 13, 2016) – Reser’s Fine Foods is recalling 19 refrigerated salad items due to listeria concerns. According to the company, they were notified by one of their ingredient suppliers that Listeria monocytogenes may be present in one lot of onions that was used to make these salads.
Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and people with weekend immune systems.
The refrigerated salads were sold in Indiana at supermarket retailers such as Walmart.
The recalled items have “use by” dates from the end of April through the middle of May printed on their containers. After the sell-by dates, the products bear a “#10” stamp.
Consumers are urged not to consume these products. Consumers who purchased these products may take them back to the store for a refund or discard them.
