INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 23, 2015) — Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health hosted a life celebration for Madison Ross.

Maddie’s 21st birthday celebration included a toy drive and a balloon release. Her family collected five wagons full of toys in her memory.

Maddie, who suffered from Spina Bifida, passed away unexpectedly in 2014 after complications from gall bladder surgery.

Her family says they were left with the memory of her beautiful, sweet smile.

To keep her memory alive, they launched the “Maddie Smiles” campaign, sharing random acts of kindness.

Maddie’s sister, Lacy Ross shared, “She had a great smile and everybody knew her because of her smile so we like to do for strangers just too kind of put her name out there, just so other people can know that she was here and she’s a precious angel.”
