This Saturday, Oct. 24, millions of Americans unite to do good for others on Make A Difference Day!
Make A Difference Day is over 20 years strong and is the nation’s largest day of community service. It is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Millions of volunteers from across the nation will unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others. The stories told around Make A Difference Day show that anyone – regardless of age, location or resources – can accomplish amazing things when they take on the problems they see in their community.
The IndyStar and FOX59 will be hosting reading events at five public libraries from 10am until 12pm.
Every child who attends will also receive a goodie bag with tickets to the Historical Society, free pizza coupons from Papa John’s, Steak ‘n Shake coupons, sunglasses and lots more! They’ll also get to pick out a free book to take home.
There will also be plenty of giveaways taking place at each location. You could win an Amazon Kindle, Marsh gift cards, restaurant gift cards, tickets to the Indianapolis Zoo and Children’s Museum, Toys R Us gift cards and more!
FOX59’s Tanae Howard and IndyCar driver Ed Carpenter will read to visitors at the Central Library. They’ll also sign autographs and be available to take photos!
