A man was arrested Wednesday morning after police said he refused to turn off his cellphone despite several requests from crew members.

Alois Vetter, 45, of Milliken, Co., was preliminarily charged for disorderly conduct in an airport.

Flight attendants on board told police Vetter refused to comply with their demands to turn his phone off for departure, so the aircraft’s captain returned to the departure gate to release Vetter from the plane.

Authorities said Vetter refused to exit the plane, which caused the plane to be delayed from its scheduled departure time.

Vetter was transported to jail and his 15-year-old daughter was released into the custody of child services.
