INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police have arrested a man in connection with the fatal shooting of a Fountain Square man.

Keith Brown, 22, Indianapolis, was arrested in Detroit, Mich., on Saturday. He’s being held there pending a transfer to Marion County.

Police charged Brown with murder in connection with the death of Jimmy Fesler, a 37-year-old Indianapolis man killed the day after his birthday. Police said Fesler died inside his home in the 1000 block of Hosbrook Street just north of Fountain Square in the early morning hours of June 28. He’d been shot in the head and neck.

Witnesses heard a disturbance and gunshots in the area. There were a number of children at the home because Fesler and his family were celebrating his birthday.

Earlier this month, police identified Brown as a suspect in Fesler’s death and appealed to the public for help in finding him.
