Man arrested in connection with near north side gas station shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 30, 2014)– Indianapolis police have made an arrest after gas station shooting on the city’s near north side.

Officers were called to the Shell gas station located at 1551 North Illinois Street on a report of a person shot Monday night around 11:30 p.m.

A male victim with a gunshot wound to the neck was discovered at the scene. The victim was transported to Methodist Hospital in good condition.

Officers identified Jamel Wesson as the suspect and located him at a nearby apartment on West 16th Street. Wesson was arrested and preliminarily charged with aggravated battery.
