PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. (April 7, 2016) — Police have arrested a man they say shot another man over scaffolding on March 25.

The shooting took place at a rural home in Putnam County.

After a two week investigation, police say they’ve determined that Robert Young, 59, was the man who shot a nine millimeter handgun at a truck driven by Jeffery Perkins, 59. They say the round traveled through the rear window and struck Perkins in the head.

Perkins was allegedly attempting to leave the home.

Perkins was airlifted to St. Vincent’s  Hospital in Indianapolis in serious condition, where he remains.

Young was booked into the Putnam County Jail. He’s facing charges of attempted voluntary manslaughter, aggravated battery, criminal confinement and pointing a firearm.
