INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 3, 2015)–Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating after a man died in a shooting on the east side Sunday night.

Police received a report of shots fired shortly before 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of First Cash Pawn in the 500 block of North Rural Street.

When they arrived, officers reported an adult male with a gunshot wound to the head.

The 41-year-old victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. Police said he later died from his wounds.

Witnesses told police the man had been involved in a dispute with another man before being shot.
