Man rescued from pond in Hendricks County

A man was rescued from a pond in southeast Hendricks County Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the pond in the 8500 block of South County Road 825 East shortly after 4 p.m.  Police say a 20-year-old man was swimming in the pond when friends lost sight of him.  His friends jumped into the pond and pulled him from the water.

The victim was transported to Franciscan St. Francis Health in Mooresville and is expected to survive.
