INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police are on the lookout for the man who pulled a gun on two women and threatened to kill their young children.
The robbery occurred just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday as the two women were leaving an apartment building at the Lakeside Point at Nora Apartments on the north side.
One woman told police she was putting her child into a car seat when the man suddenly stuck a handgun into her back.
“Give me the money, I know you got money,” he said, according to an IMPD incident report. He also “asked her where she banked at, and wanted to take her to get money from an ATM,” the report said.
Moments later, the second woman walked out of the apartment building with her baby boy in her arms. That’s when the suspect pointed the gun at her and told both women to get face down on the ground. The second woman fell on top of her baby when she dove to the ground.
The report says the suspect said “I’m gonna kill you and the baby. I’m gonna shoot you in the head if she (the other woman) does not give me money, and I’ll kill both of you.”
Both women told police the suspect hit each of them in the back of the head with his gun before grabbing cash from one of the women.
Ultimately, the robber got away with $12 and a cell phone.
Neither of the children was injured in the incident.
The women described the suspect as a black male in his 20s with a slender build, a mustache and an afro hairstyle. He was wearing a white or grey short sleeve shirt, grey sweat pants and black shoes at the time of the robbery.
