INDIANAPOLIS – A man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting at an Ohio pizzeria has been arrested in Indianapolis.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, authorities spent much of their day trying to track down 27-year-old John Deloney. Sources told Fox 59 that IMPD was working with the U.S. Marshals Service to capture him.
Ohio authorities considered him armed and dangerous. Police said he surrendered to homicide detectives Wednesday evening.
Deloney is the prime suspect in a fatal shooting this weekend at Cosmic Pizza in Hartwell, Ohio. Richard Evans, 50, was shot and killed Saturday during an attempted robbery. Police said the pizza store owner had multiple gunshot wounds. Deloney had gotten out of jail just days before the shooting, authorities said.
Deloney, who is from Indianapolis, has an arrest record in both Indiana and Ohio. He appears in more than a dozen IMPD incident reports, mostly for cases related to traffic violations and theft.
