MARION, Ind. (April 25, 2014)— Marion High School was evacuated Friday afternoon while emergency officers investigated a bomb threat.

Around 11:40 a.m., the school was placed on a level 2 lockdown, which meant all students and staff were told to stay in the area they were in unless specifically directed by an administrator.

Students were transported to Lucky Arena at Indiana Wesleyan University, where they waited for their parents to pick them up.

A couple hours later, officials determined it was safe to return to the school.  Students who were not picked up at IWU were taken back to the high school.  School busses ran on schedule.

School officials said The Kindness Rally scheduled at the high school tonight has been canceled.
