INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 20, 2014) – Today marks the 28th celebrations of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

In observation of this federal holiday, many government offices and schools are closed today.

Additionally, mail delivery and trash pickup are delayed a day.

  • Courts
  • License branches
  • Stock markets
  • Post offices, mail delivery
  • Libraries (All IPL locations except the InfoZone in The Children’s Museum)
  • Banks (most closed)
  • Schools (most closed, check your school district)
  • IndyGo buses operating on a Saturday schedule

Trash Pickup

  • Indianapolis: No pickup today. All routes will be postponed by one day this week.
  • Beech Grove: All routes as regularly scheduled.
  • Lawrence: No pickup today. All routes will be postponed by one day this week.
  • Speedway: No pickup today. All routes will be run Tuesday through Thursday.
