INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police investigated a fatal hit-and-run accident late Monday night.

Officers responded to the 2400 block of Dr Andrew J. Brown Avenue on the city’s near north side just before midnight. Once on scene, officers found 48-year-old Elisa Taylor deceased.

According to a public police report, police believe Taylor was not crossing the street at an intersection. Police also noted the area was not well lit.

Police believe it was a black or dark blue 2006 to 2013 Chevrolet Impala that drove away from the scene north of Dr. Andrew J. Brown Ave.  The vehicle may have side damage, specifically to the headlight area. There is no driver description at this time.
