BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (January 5, 2015) – A missing hunter has been found, Indiana State Police say.
Jackie Bellinger went hunting around 7 a.m. on Sunday. He’d been sending sporadic texts and indicated to state police that he was lost and his phone was about to die. And according to ISP his phone died around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
Officials had concentrated their search around Elkinsville Road and Mount Nebo Trail Head, which is near Brown County State Park. Multiple units had been searching for him.
State police said preliminary information showed a driver picked up Bellinger around 11:20 a.m. on State Road 135 south of the Story area. He contacted a family member to let them know he was all right, and was then taken back to the initial search location.
