CAMP ATTERBURY (July 16, 2014) – Camp Atterbury is auctioning off dozens of mobile homes this summer, with prices starting at $25.
More than 200 duplex trailers are up for sale. They were formerly used by soldiers preparing for deployment and are no longer needed by the Department of Defense.
Each three bed, one bath mobile home is 60 feet long and 14 feet wide with an open living room and kitchen floor plan. They include a kitchen, furnace and washer and dryer connections.
The mobile homes will be auctioned off throughout the rest of the year, but the first 51 homes went on sale Wednesday with a starting bid of $25. Bidding ends at 5 p.m. Friday, and winning bidders are responsible for towing mobile homes from Camp Atterbury.
Some of the trailers are in better condition than others, and auctioneers said prospective buyers should preview the homes before making a bid.
Camp Atterbury auctioned 175 mobile homes last year.
