Mother, boyfriend arrested in girl’s beating death

INDIANAPOLIS – Police arrested a mother and her boyfriend in connection with the death of a 15-month-old baby.

On May 4, officers arrived at 636 S. Marion Ave. in response to a report of an unresponsive child. The girl, Aubrie, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Saturday, Indianapolis Metropolitan police arrested Nikita Dunn, 23, and her boyfriend, Darrell Davis, 27. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office charged them with neglect of dependent causing death, a class A felony. The coroner said the girl died from blunt force trauma.

They were taken to the Marion County Jail.
