MUNCIE, Ind. — Muncie Community Schools is cutting approximately eight percent of its teaching staff. That’s a total of 37 jobs.
The cuts will all happen by the end of June.
The district is waiting to see how many teachers are planning on resigning or retiring before they have to fire anyone. If not enough leave, the layoffs will begin.
This also means some teachers could be moved around before the next school year starts.
The district is also going to cut five administrative jobs.
