EVERETT, Wash. – Police in Washington state are investigating an incident that landed a cast member of the reality TV show Deadliest Catch in the hospital.

According to the Everett Herald, Jake Harris was beaten Saturday night after leaving a casino. The Everett Police Department said it received a report about the assault around 8 p.m.

Harris had left the Quil Ceda Creek Casino and gotten in a car with several other people. The car went south on Highway 526; at some point Harris and other individuals got into what police described as an altercation.

Police found Harris in the 700 block of Highway 526 after someone found him and called 911. He was conscious and alert, police said, and able to answer questions. He told police he was beaten and robbed.

Harris initially refused medical treatment. His family later took him to an area hospital.

Harris’ older brother, Josh Harris, posted a video about the incident on the Facebook page for their ship, the Cornelia Marie. He said Jake suffered a skull fracture and was in intensive care.

“My brother was jumped last night and some individuals decided to beat him pretty good,” Josh Harris said. “He’s in the ICU right now. Some individuals beat him to the point where he cracked his skull.”

In the video, Josh Harris showed pictures of the people accused of assaulting his brother. Police said they were working with the family and getting tips from the public to identify the alleged attackers.

“So if you see these people in this area… they beat him up and threw him on the side of the freeway and left him for dead, so hopefully things will go well with him. He’s got some brain trauma.”
