KERMIT, Texas (Feb. 3, 2015) – A Texas fourth grader was reportedly suspended after bringing a “magic ring” to school.

The boy claimed he had the “One Ring”–the magical item featured in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

According to the New York Daily News, 9-year-old Aiden Steward told a classmate that he could make him disappear with the ring.

“It sounded unbelievable. (He) didn’t mean anything by it,” Aiden’s father, Jason, told the newspaper.

He said the family had just watched The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and Aiden was just using his imagination by acting out the movie.

The school declined to comment on the suspension.
