BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A Bloomington man was arrested after police say he threatened to skin a woman at the library.

Police were called to the Monroe County Public Library on Tuesday around 2:40 p.m. after security called them for a disturbance.

According to security, two men got into a fight, and when a security guard asked one man to leave, he became very upset, threw his backpack down, and started lunging at her.

The man then told her he was going to, “F****** skin you and your n***** kid.” He also made threats about “kicking her a**” and “skinning children.”

At that time, another employee came out to assist the security guard, and eventually the man causing the problems left the premises.

The security guard described the man to police, and she said she wanted to pursue charges.

According to a police report, police believed the man she described to be Chase Williams. Williams matched the description she provided , and he allegedly made similar threats about skinning people in the past.

While police were finishing up at the library, they received a call about a man with a similar description screaming and cursing near the Wonderlab.

When police arrived at the Wonderlab on 4th Street, they recognized the man to be Chase Williams.

The security guard identified the man at the Wonderlab to be the same man who threatened her at the library.

Williams was arrested, and a jail officer later said he made numerous comments about “skinning people” while at the jail.

Williams faces a felony charge of intimidation.
