NEW CASTLE, Ind. – The city of New Castle came together Tuesday night to provide a little girl with the Halloween experience that she missed out on this year.
Four-year-old Cailynn Richards wasn’t able to trick-or-treat Monday, because she was attacked by a neighbor’s dog that afternoon.
Cailynn’s mom says the little girl is OK, but she was very upset when she woke up Tuesday and realized she’d missed out on the festivities.
To cheer Cailynn up, New Castle residents gathered in costume along 12th Street starting at 6 p.m. to pass out candy to her.
As for the dog attack, Cailynn’s mother says they don’t plan to press charges. We’re told the dog is being quarantined.
