INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Indiana lawmakers entered this year’s session with limited ambitions compared to years past.
They still passed dozens of new laws. While many of the most attention grabbing ideas — like legal Sunday retail alcohol sales — already went into effect, more are set to do so on Sunday.
Some of those new laws will effectively ban the practice of eyeball tattooing, protect the rights of homeowners to rent out property on websites like Airbnb and designate an official state insect.
Another will give parents more control over whether their kids will be taught sex education.
One measure championed by Gov. Eric Holcomb allows for drug dealers who sell to people who overdose and die to be sent to prison for decades.
