PLAINFIELD, Ind. – Kohl’s announced Wednesday that the department store plans to open an e-commerce distribution center in Plainfield, creating hundreds of jobs.

The company plans to open the center at a recently purchased 937,000-square-foot facility at 9998 All Points Parkway in the summer of 2017.

Kohl’s says it expects to hire around 300 full-time and 600 part-time employees to work at the center over the next three years. Those interested in applying are encouraged to visit for more information and a list of available positions.

The company hopes the new center will enhance their ability to fulfill purchases and serve customers nationwide.

“We are committed to providing an easy experience to Kohl’s customers and a key part of this is being able to deliver amazing products to them more quickly and efficiently. The new e-commerce fulfillment center will be in place to support the holiday season in 2017,” said Sona Chawla, Kohl’s chief operating officer.

This will be the company’s fifth distribution center dedicated to serving customers, with other e-commerce distribution centers located in San Bernardino, Calif.; Monroe, Ohio; Edgewood, Md. and DeSoto, Texas.
