INDIANAPOLIS–It was the man’s suspicious actions that caught an IMPD Officer’s attention Friday at a southwest side gas station. But it was the drugs in plain sight that got the man arrested.

Shortly after 5 p.m.,  an IMPD Officer was on routine patrol when he noticed a man acting suspiciously at the Marathon Gas Station in the 2800 block of South Holt Road.

The officer approached the suspect and immediately noticed what looked like narcotics inside the suspect’s car.  And that wasn’t the only thing found in the vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, the officer found and seized:  9.5 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, a set of scales, baggies, and a syringe.

Three firearms along with some ammunition were also seized.  One of the guns had been reported stolen.

39-year-old James Trusty was arrested and charged with dealing in and possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of stolen property, possession of a handgun without a license, and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make final charging decisions after reviewing the case.
