Indiana’s unemployment rate is still on the rise.

The rate jumped last month to 8.7 percent, up a tenth of a percentage point from January.

The state added 7,500 jobs in February but the rate went up because more Hoosiers have started looking for work again.

Right now, the national unemployment rate is at 7.7 percent, down from 7.9 percent in January.
