One killed in motorcycle accident

A motorcyclist is killed in a crash in Fishers. The accident happened Saturday afternoon, at 96th and Fitness Lane.

Investigators say the driver of a car was traveling westbound on 96th street, when it slammed into the back of an SUV, waiting to turn south. That SUV was then pushed into oncoming traffic, and head a motorcycle head-on.

Nelson Spiegel, 63, who was driving the motorcycle, was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he died Sunday morning. Paulette Spiegel, 63, was a passenger on the motorcycle. She was also taken to the hospital.

The driver of the SUV was taken to Community North Hospital, with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was unhurt.

Police are still investigating the crash.
