INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 12, 2014)– Police say a car drove up beside a man who was walking on the east side Friday night, opened fire, then sped off, leaving him to die in the street.

It happened in the 3300 block of North Butler Avenue, near 34th Street, shortly before 10 p.m.

Police say the victim was in his late teens or early twenties.

They were searching the scene for a black Pontiac Grand Am that witnesses described seeing speeding away after the shooting.

Police have not released a suspect description and they have not released the name of the victim.
