One person dead, another wounded in near northwest side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS — Metro Police responded to the 1100 block of Congress Ave around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday on the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found one person shot inside a home and a second person suffering gunshot wounds outside a home a short distance away.

Medics transported both victims to a local hospital for treatment. One of the wounded died around 4 a.m., police said.

Detectives are still in the early stages of the investigation, and can not release the victim’s name until family members are notified.
